Art and ecology are united in the project "Voz de raíz" , by the rekowned sculptor and artist Kan Masuda, who discovers us a new form to understand the art.
The beginning of this project is an accumulation of natural disasters that happened in 2009 and 2010 in the Park of Collserola, where the damages were very numerous.
More than 70.000 trees were seriously damaged by a cyclonal wind, and later an intense snowstorm, that devastated the zone.
The roots of these great trees, woke up in Kan Masuda the desire to contribute something to the forest. Indeed, and for several years, Kan Masuda is working in the creation of pieces of art from roots. For this reason he started to speak with the Partnership of the Park of Collserola on the possibility of using the wood of the damaged trees by the catastrophe, and work in a space within the enclosure of the forest, carrying out a exhibition at the fringe between the Ciutat Comtal and the Park of Collserola.
